What to expect
-
How Often?
8-12 sessions at 4-12 week intervals
-
How Long?
Small Tattoos: 5-10 minutes
Medium Tattoos: 10-15 minutes
-
Feels Like?
Cooling and ice are applied during the treatment for patient comfort, as some discomfort is expected.
2 - 7 days downtime. Some discomfort is expected for 24 to 48 hours post treatment.
How it works
-
Selective Photothermolysis
Absorption of laser light by tattoo pigment granules as the laser beam treats the tattoo
-
Photoacoustic Wave
A shock wave effect breaks pigment containing cells and pigment granules into smaller particles. Whitening of the treated ink is expected immediately.
-
Fragmented Ink
Fragmented ink is gently flushed out by the body's natural immune response.
-
Repeated Treatments
Subsequent treatments are needed in order to clear the tattoo ink entirely. The number of treatments and interval time is assessed depending on the type of ink used, age of the tattoo, and other factors. To learn how many sessions are suitable for you and your tattoo, click here.
-
Clearance
The end result is complete clearance of the unwanted tattoo ink.
To get the most out of your session, ensure the treatment area is clean and any thick hair is closely shaved or trimmed. Discontinue use of any skincare products on the treatment area 24 hours pre-treatment. Numbing is advised for all tattoo removal treatments.
Apply Bepanthen Antiseptic Cream for 2 to 5 days post treatment. Always apply SPF to the treatment area and limit sun exposure throughout the tattoo removal process. Post tattoo removal, the treatment area should be managed much like a freshly applied tattoo.
Post tattoo removal, the treatment area should be managed much like a freshly applied tattoo. Sun exposure on the treatment area must be kept to an absolute minimum.
Please notify your clinician if there are changes to your medical history, medications or pregnancy. Hormonal imbalances can affect the treatment outcome and more treatments may be necessary. Cooperation and adherence to aftercare protocols is necessary.
